front wishbone bushes?? help

has anyone ever changed the front wishbone rear bush? have got the wishbone off and the old bush out how do i get the new 1 in?? have looked for a guide but cant find one.. so any help would b appreciated thanks

Its tricky, the way i did it was to leave the bush's in the freezer for a few days then put some copper grease around the hole on the wishbone, i used a large spanner which covered the bush a piece of wood and a 4lb lump hammer and gently tapped them in, you have to make sure the bush stays leval if it moved it will jam and you run the risk of damaging the bush/wishbone.

ah k well im afraid i aint got the option of leaving 4 a few days lol i gota use the car tomorrow for work. aprently u can use a vice?? and does the bush go in a certain way because of the cut outs?

Affair it will only go in the rounded side not the side with the straight edge. the main thing is to get something that covers and rests on the metal edge and not on the rubber part of the bush which you can hit to push it in.

You can use a big assed vice, with a plate and an extension handle on the vice.
But everything need to be big and strong
Or you could do it the right way and use an hydraulic press, most garages and mechanical shops will have one.
Not really a good idea stripping something out you don't know how to put back in, but I'm sure you realise this now, lol

well i had a rough idea how 2 do it an my m8 let me down with the press because that's what were going to use for a start lol but apparently its easier with a decent vice lol
