Hi,
most you will have noticed from my last few posts on here that my front wipers have gone:( I have now come to the conclusion that the front wiper motor has gone. I just have a couple of questions. A) how much roughly does a new motor cost
B) Are they difficult to fit C) Is there any easy way to find the part no. so I can order one. I drive a 2000 leon Cupra

They're a pretty universal part - ring some breakers for prices on;

Leon (pre-05)
Toledo (99-04)
Octavia (99-04 ??)
A3 ... again, all from a similar age
Golf Mk4

Dead easy to fit - there's a guide somewhere, which I'll post a link to if I find it, but you just take the wiper arms off, pull the scuttle panel off (black trim at base of windscreen) there's 3 10mm/12mm bolts holding the mechanism in and just swing it outwards to get to the wiring plug

I paid about £50 for a mechanism, cos mine had siezed .... with motor shouldn't be much more

Maybe I've dreamt it

It's an easy job once you get into it -

lever the caps off the wiper arms
remove the nuts from the top of the splines
lift the wipers 90deg to the windscreen and push/pull them a few times to loosen them off the spindles
remove wiper arms
open bonnet and remove seal from around the top of the bulkhead
lift the scuttle panel away (can't remember if you have to take the filter cover off the n/s or not)
unbolt the old linkage and unplug the motor
remove motor and transfer to new linkage (where applicable)
plug in and refit the motor assy, and put everything back as it was ;)
