does anyone know where to get a front spliiter for a leon fr tdi. How much do they cost, are they easy to fit and what do they actually do?

cheers

you need to modify the splitter to fit.
about 5 mins with a sharp knife.

then offer it up to bumper, and either drill and srew it to underside of the bumper or use self tapers.
personally i made a small pilot hole as wanted to avoid possibility of cracking the bumper.

what does it do?
well not alot.
in motorsport its an aero dynamic thing to help keep the front end planted.
in this case they are more of a add on to give a more sporty look.

what part of it do you need to trim andy?

You have to trim to two pegs in the middle.

The bumper on the R has a raised section in the middle but on the Cupra/Fr it's flat so the two pegs need cutting level with the rest of the splitter.

I don't have any problems with scraping, apart from if I pull onto my drive too quickly (it's fairly steep) :)

Aye, I dont know like - I cant take mine in multi-storeys as I catch it on the ramps. Even the smallest slope can be a pain with 4 in. Still, I dont care. Form over function and all that...

I had one on mine in the past, I riveited it on to my front bumper after I had made the modifications mentioned above.

The 1st one I had got pulled off at Brands Hatch last year at the BTCC as I drove over a bump in the grass too quickly (I dont think I was the only one to do it that day either!!!)

The 2nd one I had got broken in half when I hit a rabbit [:@]

I am not sure if I am going to put a 3rd one on yet

It makes the front of the car look a lot lower with it on
