Front shocks

Hi l have just had a service on my Cupra Ateca 69 plate , at the dealership.
Thay have stated the two front shock are damp and would need replacing, possibly only an advisory on an mot.

Cost for this is £1075. I think this is a lot , l would welcome any feedback.

I'd be fairly sure that the DCC element adds to the cost, over a normal shock.

Might be worth looking at the cost of compatible after market alternatives e.g. Koni or Bilstein; although if you go that route, it would be sensible to get a set of four.

@Steve Michael - is it actually damp / wet or just a light misting on the shocks? If the latter, then it isn’t uncommon on VAG cars and I wouldn’t worry about it. Worth keeping an eye on it though to make sure it doesn’t develop into a leak.

The dealership stated wet but not a leak, or possibly a misting . I will have a look myself.
I have just looked on Auto Doc and the shocks are about £400 each, so the dealership overall is not to bad a price.
The car came with a RAC warranty which thay said would cover this if the garage contacts them labour charge is upto £70 per hour max.
