Anybody done it? After nearly two years I'm seriously considering going back to a less sophisticated time, when heaters had physical controls and the like. I think I've spent more time in courtesy cars than in my own due to various issues with updates, things not working and worst of all a p***poor gearchange I think the time has come to part ways. Just wondering if anyone got a decent deal going backwards or can I expect my pants to be pulled down ?

Sure there’s a thread somewhere on here with someone done the same thing.
Don’t blame you.
I run old cars for that reason.
What I save myself on monthly payments on a new car I spend on tax and insurance and run a few older cars.
I just find them a hell of a lot more fun and entertaining, a lot less complicated and the two daily’s I don’t have to be too fussy where I park them.
We’ve been looking at new cars and driven a few but as much as I love cars new ones just do appeal any more.

That could have been us (https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/threads/goodbye-to-mk4-leon-hello-to-mk3.470824/). We bought one of the very last Leon FR 150 Black Editions with the DSG gearbox. It was not cheap but we are so pleased with it. It was a real pleasure sitting down in more comfortable seats, a sat nav that worked properly and heating and ventilation controls that you can adjust without taking your eye off of the road. The ride is better given the Mk4 rear suspension setup is not as sophisticated. No regrets whatsoever.

Think I'm going to go for an Alteca next, had a 22 plate one the other week as a loan and it's still got the MK3 Leon infotainment system - everything just works and easy to hand. The handing wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, just a bit higher up.

Having said that it sounds like Seat as a brand is not going to exist for much longer, thanks to the 2035 end to ICE, so it all won't matter shortly.
