Hi everyone
Have an annoying dashboard problem. All manner of idiot lights are flashing as soon as ignition key removed as well as a buzzer sounding- only solution being to turn the lights on and leave them on but obviously not for hours so have to keep disconnecting battery.Oddly everything seems to work-lights ,glowplugs, abs, engine etc.Called AA yesterday & the man cleaned up the earth contacts under the battery, voila cured! Not so,
drove the thing today and on removing the ignition key all the lights on again& that buzzer!
Has anyone else had this problem and would be willing to suggest something?
Should add that I changed the battery but not until the next day did anything occur and then it was just two beeps on the buzzer then ok for a couple of days, then the above all happened.
Please help if you can,roboz.

I've got this problem as well and thought it was due to damp/condensation.
The car is currently at local garage (not Seat dealer) and he is stumped. Car is 6 yrs old and I don't want to pay for a new panel, will suggest to mechanic that he runs a dignostic test (is this standard non dealer equipment?).

If the problem doesn't affect the car's driveability/safety then I may just leave it as an intermittent problem. Would the car fail MOT with this problem?

Will continue to google ...

Thanks

Yeah it will fail a m.o.t if the lights stay on the dash

Hi leon92,not sure if the dash problem is actually solved but for now my dash is behaving itself.Problem was to do with abs sensors bridged with metal particles from the discs-sensor ends are magnetic. The rear ones are not easily cleaned in situ and are best removed from the hub- you unclip the sensor lead remove the allen bolt then wiggle the unit out .Remove the debris.Get a multimeter a cheap one is fine, select the ohm range and check there is resistance across the two pins inside the sensor body .Mine all varied between 973 -1006 ohms, point is that there is a reading. No reading(open circuit)means the sensor is scrap. My front sensors were/are corroded in but I cleaned the ends with a cloth then gave them the ohm test -they both had a reading so reinstated leads drove car Voila a normal dash.Do you hear a small motor running for a few seconds behind the dash leon 92?
