free aero body kits reduce cupra exclusivity

I noticed that the aero kit is being offered on several different specifications of MKII leons "for free"

Does anyone think this may devalue or reduce the exclusivity of the cupra given its conservative styling.
(mind wanders back to the tdi+ etc at the end of the MKI run)

Or do you think like i do that there just may be another version or upgrade to the MKII cupra at a later date?

The bodykit offer isn't actually free. The Reference Sport with kit is £1600 more than the standard version but the kit is worth £2500, so it's a way of getting you to spend more than you might otherwise have done.

There was talk of a bespoke kit for the Cupra but I don't think it is a certainty yet. Not much is with SEAT.:)

Lol, the aero kit is for the 1.6 peeps who want the fast sporty looks, and the Cupra is for the peeps who don't need to look sporty, they just know theirs is fast!

I think the Cupra looks really good. The only problem, if there is one, is that it doesn't look that different from the FR but they both look much better than the lower spec models. Those in the know will still recognise it as a Cupra and be suitably awe struck.;)

All Ibizas look very similar now and it's only things like wheels and exhausts which distinguish the base 1.2s from the top of the range Cupras. That's the way SEAT are doing it now.:)

with a fair number prefering the aero kit to the cupra i think the cupra mat not take off as much as the old.

IMHO... i think think the aero kit looks 100 times better than the cupra body kit!... i think SEAT should have done the cupra with the aero kit

cheers guys lol...

i went to an essex meet today... there was a silver mk2 leon with an aero kit and twin exhausts (im not sure if this is part of the kit?! ) and also it had had a custom white/silver and black leather retrim and a silver dash kit... i must admit it was very nice! (imagine if it had a stage 2 cupra engine! ;) )

im not keen at all on the mk2 leon... especially the cupra, looks wise! IMHO i think its a let down looks wise (compared to the mk1 LCR if u see what i mean?!) BUT the aero kit makes the new leon look sooooooo much better... almost like comparing a bog standard mk1 leon to a LCR (looks wise!) if u get my drift?!

The Leon 2.0 TDI Reference Sport with the Aero kit is £1000 more this year than last year! Doesnt make sense! SEAT are currently designing a bodykit exclusively for the new Cupra, so beware if your ordering a cupra for March!

Official or usual hearsay?

It depends what you mean by hearsay, when I was with SEAT UK just before Christmas and we were all discussing the new Cupra, how it doesnt stand out from the FR! SEAT confirmed they are currrently working on 2 designs for the new Cupra, they are unsure about what they are going to call the kit or even if it will be sold as standard to the new Cupra or as an accessorie. Ive only seen 1 design and its very near to the new Supercopa, truly, truly awesome. So whether its hearsay or official, like everything with manufacturers, we will have to be patient.....

Good old SEAT eh, right hand doesn't know what the left is doing. Supercopa kit is as much the new Cupra in appearance except the wide arches, which I'd be extremely surprised if they were to make production. As it will mean wider wheels, and wider tyres, and more expense.

Not making me change my order simply because i don't want it to stand out, Q car for me. Keeps the scroats from my door.

So were any timescales indicated? Or personally (not holding you to it!) how long do you think it will be before more info is released?
