Had my car booked in for it's 50k service and 2 warranty issues today in Leicester and the verdict is
When the car was coming up due for a service I called Francis and the garage nearest to my place of work where I bought the car for a quote. Francis answered the phone quickly and politely, the other I gave up up after 2 failed attempts
The staff at Francis were courteous and friendly (good looking too ;) ) and organised a new Toledo to be my trusty stead for the day. Apart from the fact i'm not keen on the exterior styling of the Tolly and it having no fuel in it I was actually quite impressed. It was the Stylance TDI model so I got to experience cruise control for the first time - it felt unnatural at first but soon got used to it and the fuel economy was good too :)
It handled well and went well.
When I returned to the garage this evening the guy who actually did the work on my car came out to talk me through what he'd done, a nice touch I thought.
I've got a sporadic fault on the climate control which they said they couldn't do under warranty yet as their magical computer was able to clear the fault. The fault was 'fixed' at the last service and continues to appear after being reset by VAGCOM too. However, he said it it happened again they'd investigate further... i'd better find a suitable time to book it in as it happened on the way home.
Other than that, the car was washed and hoovered and returned in good condition.
Finally it cost £130 which by stealers standards I thought wasn't too bad. Unlike the cost of a strut brace @ 97.76 - I was too scared to ask if that included fitting.

Overall, a pleasant experience and I'll be using them in future :)

They are friendly and helpful service staff @ Francis. I used to take my Toledo there for all sorts of small niggles and problems whilst it was still under warranty and they were always pleasant to deal with.

(Shame I couldn't buy my new FR from there and ended up buying it elsewhere from bunch of totally uncaring, unprofessional, dealership; I was probably unfortunate I got a newbie salesmen who sold the car to me.)

What's the climate fault?

There's one that appears on every MK4, but noone knows what the fault is.
Cant remember the code number but I can tell you that you'd be driving along happily until a hurricane swept through the car! Climate Control is currently broken again after having all of the motors replaced. It now only blows out if Recirc is on or if reverse gear is engaged. It's being investigated again when they get my new gearbox.

80k service for me the other day at Francis. They were ok, but as I have a company maintenance contract they didn't bother with the niceties of explaining the work etc.
Job seems well done, although it appears they didn't bother attempting to fix a rattle that has been annoying me for 2 years now. I think they probably spent more time cleaning the car than working on it!
Overall, above average for a SEAT dealer.

nope. Although I have bought a Used car of them in the past with some hidden facts the sales manager conveniently forgot to mention...
