Had my car booked in for it's 50k service and 2 warranty issues today in Leicester and the verdict is
When the car was coming up due for a service I called Francis and the garage nearest to my place of work where I bought the car for a quote. Francis answered the phone quickly and politely, the other I gave up up after 2 failed attempts
The staff at Francis were courteous and friendly (good looking too ) and organised a new Toledo to be my trusty stead for the day. Apart from the fact i'm not keen on the exterior styling of the Tolly and it having no fuel in it I was actually quite impressed. It was the Stylance TDI model so I got to experience cruise control for the first time - it felt unnatural at first but soon got used to it and the fuel economy was good too
It handled well and went well.
When I returned to the garage this evening the guy who actually did the work on my car came out to talk me through what he'd done, a nice touch I thought.
I've got a sporadic fault on the climate control which they said they couldn't do under warranty yet as their magical computer was able to clear the fault. The fault was 'fixed' at the last service and continues to appear after being reset by VAGCOM too. However, he said it it happened again they'd investigate further... i'd better find a suitable time to book it in as it happened on the way home.
Other than that, the car was washed and hoovered and returned in good condition.
Finally it cost £130 which by stealers standards I thought wasn't too bad. Unlike the cost of a strut brace @ 97.76 - I was too scared to ask if that included fitting.
Overall, a pleasant experience and I'll be using them in future
