FR TFSI sounds 'clunky'..

when you start it up and this was the same with the demo one I drove. It just sounds odd and a lot more like a diesel than a petrol car. I'm pretty sure they're probably all like this.. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why?

I think its to do with the injectors being at such a high pressure

It's not the gas recirculation is it?
If you leave it to idle for a few minutes does it stop doing it?

It naturally sounds clicky due to the high pressure fuel injectors in these cars :)

and yes, it does sound like a diesel on fire-up ;)

it's because of the direct injection and ignition. The high pressure injectors causes it like already said above.

My ex Mazda was also with similar DISI engine and was 'noisy'.
