FR TDI Fuel Venting ?

Silly Question, but do the Leons have the "VENTING" button on the inner of the fuel filler hole ?

Being a high milage driver, I find this a great addition to my mk4 golf, it allows you to fill her up to the brim with ease, & no "click click" of the fuel pump either.

This is the button I'm speaking of, located @ 9 o'clock, you just push it in with the filler nozzle & it allows the air to rush out, so like I said no "click click"

Hi, Ive got a 56 plate ibiza dab and at most fuel stations when i'm fulling it randomly clicks as if my tank is full when i actually have 1/4 of a tank. could that button be anything to do with it?

so jace are you saying there is one? have you tried the button at 9 o clock?

stu666 - probably just the angle of the nozzle and speed of the delivery. try turning the pump a bit and pulling the nozzle out a little. Also you might as well vent whilst your there.

You should see a button type thing on the funnle, on my ibiza its at 3 o clock. So as you are filling up the car, the handle clicks, and with the end of the nozzle, you push the clip type thing and it lets the air out of the tank so that you can get more fuel into it.Think thats basically it matey.

To vent properly to the brim you will be at the pump a good 5 mins!
You will get some strange looks if there is a queue of cars behind you waiting!
It takes me that long coz I dont let the air out out at the same time as filling, I would fill up until it click clicks, let the air out and repeat....

I normally get in around 63L...

You could always do what I used to do with my old Ibiza and push the button down with the nozzle as you're filling up so the air escapes as fuel's being put into the tank...

Venting ruined my MPG. I need 600miles to a tank and prior to venting it made me drive carefully. Now with venting I can drive like a twonk and still get over 600.

Victor, you do will have a little valve type thing on the left hand side about an inch or so into the neck. You can push it down with the end of the nozzle and you will hear some air being released...

Pic at the top is spot on. Go look now and try pushing it with your finger. It's spring loaded.

I have had a look at my filler neck , and I STILL cant find the button .. I have 5 plastic moulded ribs for guiding the nozzle in, and I have a drain hole for when it overflows ( bottom of pic ) but I do not have a venting button that I can see ..........

Any ideas where it will be , then ??
