I got a dump valve today for my FR TFSI and I went to a well known VW Specialist mechanic to get it fitted. To my surprise, the only way he said it could be done would be to probably have it re-mapped afterwards, because the ECU light would come on and the engine would go into limbo mode, which means instead of it being 200BHP it would go into a 50BHP stage until the problem was resolved. The new Leon's have a weight mass filter and once a dump valve is fitted, it wouldn't be sending the right amount of air through the system.

So in the end, I decided to go for an Air Filter, which is pretty much pointless. I just thought that I'd let all of you guys out there know of this problem, if you don't already. So I'd just say to be cautious. I didn't want to go through with it, just incase it did mess up everything and then with the Warranty voided... Well, it just wasn't a risk that I saw a great deal in trying to do and I'd suggest that if anyone did want one, then it would be better to wait and if you have anything like that fitted... Make sure you go to the dealer or someone who is a VW Specialist. That's all.

what kind of 'dump valve' did you fit of the car. the TFSI is alot different to the old 1.8T engine and the car has a diverter valve fitted on the side of the turbo.

There is a product which forge makes, this a purely a noise maker, Im not too keen on it though. But it might suit your needs. Its basically a Blow off valve which lets a small amount of air through some holes to give a wooshy/hissing sound.

If you want a dump valve type sound i think the best way is with an induction kit.
I have the neuspeed type and it really amplies the sucking of the air and you get a big tsssch noise when you let off the accelerator.

a simple panel filter reaplcement doesnt do much. I had the pipercorss before I fitted the induction kit.
