Model Year 22/23 Formentor clutch repair warranty/goodwill

Hello, found myself in a sticky situation so thought I’d ask if anyone has any idea of the likelihood that cupra would fix my clutch under warranty. I have a cupra formentor 22 plate which has suddenly started juddering when switching 1st-2nd. Left it a day and the following day it went crazy, warning lights came on saying the clutch was overheating, check clutch is depressed and visit workshop, the whole car started shaking and lost power while on the motorway so I stopped at a garage who suggested I take it to the dealership as the issue didn’t seem to be wear and tear and seemed like a fault with the car. I managed to make it to the dealership where they said they have no space for 3 weeks and no courtesy car to offer, but also said it was not safe to drive and that although they can’t stop me from taking it I should leave it there. They took a very quick look and came back saying the clutch needs replacing, it will cost 2300 to replace and clutches are not covered under warranty. I asked if they were sure it was the clutch and she said he had been driving and testing cars for over 10 years and knows a slipped clutch when he sees one.

What I can’t understand is how, as this was not gradual. It happened out of nowhere, never had any issues and the car has done about 15k miles. They suggested I call customer service as they may offer it under ‘good will’. The man then said they could diagnose it and it may actually be something that’s covered under warranty and that he would try to do it sooner if there were any cancellations, otherwise if it’s not done under warranty I can pay the 134 fee and take it to another garage.

So now I’m without a car, struggling to get to work and the only reason I’m leaving it at the dealer is in case I am able to get warranty to cover it. I wondered if anyone had a similar experience and managed to get this fixed under warranty or good will, as I don’t understand how if it suddenly stopped working that is considered wear and tear, especially considering the low mileage and age of the car. My last car (Seat Ibiza) never had this issue before, and I had done over 40k on it. I also had a service about 6 months ago which was all fine.
