Forge SMIC?

Was having a discussion with my mate today about adding an FMIC to my 2001 Leon, as i will just be doing the usual mods, turbo back exhaust, remap etc, and he said the Forge SMIC would be good enough.....

now having owned an ibiza cupra before with a Forge FMIC i really know how good having one of these are, but never had an uprated SMIC

for the power i will be pulling out of my Leon, it will be approximately 240bhp, will an SMIC be enough?

has anyone had experience of adding an uprated SMIC to i.e. Forge to their Leon?

apparently the standard ones on the Leons are pretty good. Certainly alot better than the standard ones on the Ibiza cupra (tiny and pathetic)

I'd ignore your mate

Yes the uprated one is 'better' but nowhere near as effective as an FMIC

You won't get 240bhp on SMIC though.

thanks

thats what i thought, so will be going down the FMIC route, tried and tested, and great results!

The Forge SMIC is a worthwhile mod if you get it damn cheap (really cheap I mean) but I wouldn't bother otherwise. Save your money up until you can afford a FMIC and do the job properly.
