Got my forge short shifter plummed in tonight. 3 min job.

Very worthy mod, defo do it if you feel the throw is a bit too much. Infact, just do it anyway.

I'd say easy an extra 40bhp with that right there.

:)

40 BHP aye? That is good!!!!

Am I right in thinking that you have in on the shortest setting in the pic and that spring loaded bar will move along the slot to the left of the pic to adjust it?

Might make that my next mod if you think its worthwhile. I fitted one to my mates RS4 a couple of weeks ago and he loves it!

You are indeed. I just whapped it as far right as it would go, and it's just fine and dandy!

Really easy mod.

You can actually just drill a whole in the OEM one and get the same effect, but I wanted to keep the standard one for when i sell the car. Plus, the forge one give you the option to "tune" it how you want.

Just wondered, as I wasn't sure if the sideways movement now felt out of place and longer than the forward movement. Does it feel 'right' now or do you think the sideways movement could (should...) be shortened too?

Has anybody tried the new sideways short shifter yet? When I fitted my short shifter I fitted mine at its extreme shortest setting too. I've heard there isn't much difference to standard unless you go to at least half way. Great mod for the price.

Sorry, I thought you were talking to me before.... Haven't fitted the Front to Back one yet.

Although, the RS 4 one I did only did Front to Back and the sideways movement seemed fine like it was... I'd be worried about reducing the target of each gear and selecting the wrong one as a reault!!

i was thinking about getting the sideways shifter but decided against it as i hate to think what would happen if i put the car in third as a was suppsed to be putting it in fifth!

I dont think you really need the side to side reduction personally!! with the front to back reduction it feels really precise!! a bit notchy when its really cold but I dont think im going to reduce the sideways movement :)

fitted both of mine. as above, the side shifter doesn't really make much of a difference.

with the front to back set at it's shortest, it's a vast improvement!

well worth doing, but i'd probably only do the front to back, if i were doing them again.

plus, the side one's a bit of a bugger to get out ;)

Cheers for that. I was considering doing both, but I think I'll just stick with the front-back one for now and see how it feels.

Excellent mod. Imo it was too notchy on the furthest right position, slide it back slightly so the slot is just not visible on the right and it's perfect.
