Anyone had a map done by forge?

Ive got a std LC (180) they offered me a straight map, guarantying between 220-225bhp, all in for 250 quid!

That sound a bit over ambitious?

£250 remap from Forge? You sure???

The very early 1.8t Leons and the early 1.8t Golfs ko3 turbos max out at 205, the later ko3s reaches 240-245hp but with mods like full turbo back exhaust, TIP, FMIC etc.

180-220hp is doable.

Rang Forge direct earlier, to ask some questions regarding the setting up of my split-r, they said theve dropped it to 250.

Mines a 52 plate, what turbo's gonna be in it?

how are they going to guarantee it without putting it on a dyno, you could get it on a dyno a day later pay £50 for a run and find out its 30bhp less .... then what they gonna do?

Okay, i spose your right, but surely you could say that about any old remap?
It's not like some bloke down the pubs sayin he can tune your car to 400bhp....

Just figured it seemed cheap & from a known supplier, an equivilant revo map would cost like 350 so....

I had my LCR mapped by forge end of last year.... no complaints really, couldnt tell you how it compares to other maps, if it is as quick etc, as I've never driven or been in any other LCRs never mind another remapped one... Power delivery seems smooth enough, and it definately has more kick than it used to.... When I got mine done they told me they usually try to quote conservative figures so that you're more guaranteed to get them (i.e. 250bhp + 350nm for LCR) but sounds like this idea is out the window quoting 225 for a LC, unless they really have managed to find some extra magic like you said! - If so I want to take mine back to get the extra power too!! haha

£250 as quoted, so even if it is slightly slower than, say a revo map, I'm happy as only cost half as much anyway! plus, the way I see it, is that theres less strain on all the engine components if less power is being produced, so shouldnt decrease life as much, but still gives extra kick over standard!

would like to stick it on an RR tbh to see what the figures actually are! just cant be bothered to pay for the pleasure haha (once a stingy student, always a stingy student!)

my clutch is fine! still no slip at 2k revs in 6th (the point with most torque + tallest gear so most resistance from final drive side of clutch)
