when I was at Impossible Performance last week they said they fitted a forge fmic to a mk3 and retained the oem lower grill.

I didn't realise that it was possible because everyone seems to fitt a thinner mesh...a la halfords??

Has anyone else managed not to lose the standard grill??

Ive never fitted one but i watched M0rk fit mine and theres noway you will get the OEM mesh back on M0rk even had to file abit off of my centre bar in the bumper to allow the bumper to fit properly.

i dont see the point of spending all that money to hide it behind some mesh i know you by it for proformance but a nicly kept FMIC looks bling!:D, My intercooler is a few years old and still polishes up well and theres only a few bent fins but these are eaisly strightend.

Im actully going to get another bumper and have the centre section removed smoothed and sprayed as i think seeing the whole intercooler will look the nuts, i think sombody has done it before. I dont find that the intercooler gets batterd at all without the mesh.

I suppose it's down to personal taste! Like some prefer a big oval exhaust over the subtle twin ( i prefer the oval).
