forge FMIC & less presure?

I've notice on the turbo gauge that, after mounting the forge FMIC, the pressure drop from 0,9 to 0,8 - is it normal? I have a 225 bhp leon cupra r with stock ECU / software.

Thx for the answer,

Mike

that sounds about right, the fmic is larger than the side mounted so it takes a little longer to fill and also more effort, imagine trying to blow a balloon up using a 12" straw then try again with a 12 foot straw, more space to fill. A larger turbo wouldnt maybe show as much of a drop I dont think.
I noticed a small drop, wasnt more than 1psi but the benefits of colder air means youre probably getting more air mass through anyway.

This is known as drop pressure in the intercooler trade,, and it is normal when a larger intercooler is fitted to expect some loss.

The pressures you are loosing wont realy affect the performance of the car.

To be honest...a big perk with having a FMIC is you can safely turn the boost up afterwards.

When i had mine..it felt a bit sluggish after a while...then i realised that i had obviousy loose boot pressure due to the cooler being larger...

It went into westec for a service and while there..they put it on the rolling road and altered the map slightly and pushed up the boot of my cupra. Made a world of difference.

Might be worth a look mate.

mine also did this with my forge but after a few days the car adapted to it and it then boosted back as it was before!

adaption, will be some of it and the MAF target is another... a colder denser aircharge will equate to the same airmass, so cooler, less boost for same airmass.
