Whats peoples opinions on how to fit this, iv read a few people say reverse, and one person said somewhere that they spoke to Forge at some show and even they recommended fitting in reverse, something to do with it working like the old diaphram type.

Any more opinions on which way to fit it?

personally i would keep it the normal way, i found no benefits from fitting it reverse, and hated the silly chirp you got between gearchanges. sounded tres GAY!

actually while at forge a few weeks ago Richard explained that in the reversed position the dv is actually how it should of been positioned from the factory and in theory its the stock dv the wrong way round to begin with

not that i really understand it but if the only difference is a slight chirp when u back off then who cares...if u want the noise then reverse it. mine currently is and its alright i used to think it sound silly but now i just think it sounds like its got a turbo

there is something wrong with my LC - to be looked into on Friday. but when i've it in reverse, it can stay open if you release throttle to activate dump but keep throttle in that position rather than continuing to come off. Sounded like a referee's whistle! But, i reckon i have a problem with my car, so that probably doesn't apply!

I've actually got the stock bosch one back on and had no problems with it at all. In fact the only reason I got a 007 was because everyone else has one - so it must be good, but i don't think it's done anything of an improvement. My opinion, but i've got one and it isn't on my car.

The DV is located close to the turbo and gets very hot, which is why there have been problems with the plastic stock ones. Mine is fine though, and i am incertain as to apart from durability, the piston type may actually be inferior in terms of response time. I have spoken to more than one specialist in VAG performance industry - not a dealer, not from forge - and both have said "stock ones are fine, just get too hot and can get damaged."

The firmer spring may improve things i've you've been remapped, but I didn't notice much, if at all.

I reckon it would be best to get a cold side relocation kit and stick the stock one there.

a gay sort of hiccup sound, very camp and sounds like you have a fake dump valve kit or something

i put mine in reverse - didnt sound any different to normal. Should be worried? Didnt hear any "chirping" at all....

Not bothered really - my car feels more powerful than ever at the moment - when i sort my boost hose I'll be grinning again.

Doesn't make any difference, off of Forge Fitting PDF...

"Although the valve can be fitted in either orientation, I would suggest that you fit it, THE SAME WAY ROUND AS THE ORIGINAL BOSCH VALVE.
Recent tests have proven this gives a far quieter operation."

Like I said, reversed mine just seems louder, no gay chirp or anything, those I have taken out in my car think it sounds really good, nice sound, not too loud and not 'chirpy'....and yes it was people off this site..!

gonna try it both ways i think, one thing, im probably being thick, but what do you have to reverse? of do u connect the pipe which should go in the top on the side and the side to the top?

with everything here being said, and 99% of it saying dont reverse it, you are still going to? lol.
yes you reverse the orientation of it. Side to bottom, bottom to side. The top (vacuum pipe - smallest one of the lot) stays where it is.
