Guys what oil have you had your GB's filled with post fit?
Were you advised on filling with a different oil due to having this fitted.

My car will be more track fast road orientated so not too bothered about increased noise if there is benefits.

Also

How have your cars been handling the snowy/icy conditions?
Do you notice increase traction on the ice?

hi willie, on the gearbox oil it was just replaced with new oem stuff afaik, maybe alex at backdraft will be able to say more.

traction wise, ive found it harder in the ice as the diff wants to counteract the grip if you slide a little, but uphills are easier due to power going to the wheel with less grip.

tcs off is a must imho with the diff as it totally throws the tc out especially on hard cornering.

noticed a crunchy box with the cold temps for first 2-3 mins

best thing with the diff willie is to try and trust it, when your ass starts quivering you really gotta trust it to bring you in, or it aint worth having it.

Perfect James, thank you.

I'll learn to trust it as will have it on the track when feck ups aren't as bad as on the road.

Looking forward to powering out of corners.
I had wondered how the ESP/TCS would react with a diff, its usually off anyway but would like to totally disable it if possible, that and ABS.
Need an finely tuned electrical brain for that one

abs is a pain willie, im having issues with mine at the minute, but tc off is a must really, on the road the diff is far superior to the tcs anyway.

still fine tuning the konis though, seems to want to go stiffer all the time to help the diff.

gear changes into bends are great mate.....

For me the diff is the icing on the cake, all the rest of the compenents are stiffer or uprated or ripped out, lol.
So getting the diff and finally more power will top the project off nicely.

I'll try and get a detailed account of my reactions to the differential fitting

I found that the diff got me through snow/ice conditions that other cars just stood still on. Its gets a little bit clever when your driving in these conditions, you can feel it transferring power from the front two wheels to get grip. Of course if there isnt grip available both will just spin...

As for dry conditions, it really is amazing. I am sure you read about torque bias diffs so I wont try and explain but in short you will gain in confidence as to how the whole system works after first 2-3 weeks. Its not just about exiting corners it gives you traction all round as long as you know how hard you can go into a corner and trust that the system will aid you to get where your going. Remember that the system is constantly working when your pressing.

Amazing thing is that when you disable the electronic aids and its just you and the diff working...the mechanical aspect of it really inspires confidence because you can feel it working when pushing hard. You will be able to judge what it can't do and what it can. :)

EDIT: as for oil I can find out for you.
