Nice work, very bright, where did you run the wire from. I'm guessing the ceiling light, but what route did you take? I'm wanting to do this might opt for something red/orange like the climate control illumination.

Run the wire from;
-Unclip the ceiling light, get a second wire from ceiling lights wire
-if you look into the ceiling light compartment you'll see a space running through the front window.push the cable from there
-place your fingers between the front window and ceiling part, you'll find a 1cm space running through whole the ceiling from side to side.run the wire from there to the A pillar's airbag part.
-Between the airbag part's plastic and the ceilings cotton part there is a small gap, push the wire in it then get it to the fuse box, from there thorugh the pedals and that's it

Whats did you mount the bulbs in? You got a link for the bulbs and holders if you used any?

these are the bulbs (they are used as led sidelights for the exterior of the car.)
and on the back of it you see the attachment equipment..it's generally used on outfit wears ,but it's very effective to attach it on the floor carpet =)

Hi,

I find the footwells very dark and shadowy, my fiances dads BMW 325 has some footwell lights which are on very low with the dash lights and come on bright with the interior light which make a big difirence.

One diode and resistor combo would allow me to set the birghtness of the footwell LED's when on Dash
2nd diode and resistor would put the brightness up with the interior light.

The diodes stop the dash lights powering the interiror light and vice-versa which im sure the car wouldnt like!

The interior light connection can come from where has been discussed in this forum but...
Where can you pick up the dimmer controlled voltage for the dash lights?

I was thinking the back of the dimmer but ive not had a good look so im not sure if its an actual dimmer or just a CAN interface where the interior light power line comes from a control interface somewhere.

Thanks,
Stuart

Hmm seems like a lot of work just so you can see your shoes....

Probably your right. However, having dropped a pen down there the other night and the interior light not lighting up the footwell i think it could be usefull.

I may not ever get round to it tho!

You can get some that flast with your music as well... hmm that could get annoying tho ^^

i think so! Would also look kinda tacky(ill get some grief from thoes that have it!) and i mostly listen to Radio 2 (more grief heading my way) and they dont have a huge ammount of music with beats for lights to flash too! There is some but not enough to drive me mad.
