Hello everyone,
Want to change rear brake pads on Cupra Formentor (1.5TSI, my2021). Need access to 03 - ABS module, to release rear calipers. But it is locked and need security access code.

How do you guys change brake pads if security code is not available?

As carius suggested, I did some research, now I think I understand the difference between SFD and security code, What I I don't understand is their logic. Why would new brake pads or a new battery be such a critical point that they introduced a SFD for such a simple intervention.

I see that the only "DIY" option is OBDeleven with PRO plan or the classic garage option to put 12V directly on the handbrake motors

II think we can say that the EU is introducing SFD and SFD2. Yes, you can do it directly with 12V if you know what you are doing. Otherwise the motor will smoke. But you will have a problem that the brakes do not have a basic setting. If you finish the whole thing with the tester, the motors go to the limit with torque cut-off and then know that the basic position has been reached. But they don't do that with the 12V trick.

The background to SFD is that due to the increasing networking of vehicles, which is expected to lead to autonomous driving, the EU has said that critical control units should be locked.
