Foldable Key Fob - Backwards compatiable?

I have a standard key which is a pain in the pocket, can you get a foldable key and program it to replace the standard key?

If you do a search for flip key on this site or go to the other VW golf site for the same. I had a look and found loads of good tips - so the answer is yes

Ahhhhh Flip key, no wonder there were no results on the search.
