Fog Light Wiring

Hey, i have a mk3 ibiza s.

bought some fog lights (genuine seat kit), the instructions state connect the purple/white wires to the T17/8 housing and the brown wires to the maul mass of instrument cables.

Now i know its a mk3 problem but im thinking the mk2 wiring is very similar.

Anyone wired a set of fog lights up to a normal ibiza?

I believe my fog light wires only have two connections at the back of the fog. But ive never traced them to the back of the dash sorry mate

It's not too difficult to wire them in from scratch. You just need a connection from earth to a relay. From the relay to a switch via fuse to the positive source ie the dip headlights wire. That's so they only come on when the headlights are on dip. Then the high current circuit from say the battery via the relay to the lights and earth. Easy peasey.
Get yourself a multimeter and your cars wiring diagram it's really not that hard to 'logic' it out.

Do the world a favour though. Only use fogs when it's foggy or of a restricted visiblity due to poor weather don't run them 24/7. Not only does it look daft but it's against the law. You could get nicked for it.

Don't get me started on the sidelights and foglights brigade!

Total agree about the sidelight and fogs.. no point.

However the kit comes with the wire all ready just to plug in. Its where to plug it thats the problem. Its got a new switch etc... so should be straight forward but the instructions are insane and because its a mk3 ibiza there is no haynes manual out.
