fmic ?

hi there.

Im after a fmic for my leon fr . mk1. I know forge do one wich is 600 odd quid is there any others that do the job ? i know on the lcr there are a few that do the job . also if there was a chance of me changing the inlet maifold to a cupra r one what sort of things would need changing ?

Forge do the only kit that I know of. If you're not comfortable with drilling parts of your car for a custom one, then go for this. With the Forge kit, you get a new crash bar designed to hold the FMIC and as I understand, fitting the Forge kit is a case of nuts & bolts.

As far as i know the cupra r manifold (BAM,AMK) is diffrent to the rest of the 1.8T engines, as for the intercooler, do a search, DIY jobs have been done with good results.

Have realised how much of a prat i was to not buy a cupra r straight out.. but hey.. my car now owes me alot so cant really go back so will just role with it buy a ko4 001 fmic and get it sort of cupra r spec.. and hey its only now done 41k !

plenty of tuning potential on the cupras mate.. 240bhp, sort the handling... got yourself a fast car and a bit of a sleeper aswell.

Check my thread out for custom fmic, cost me around £200 in totall and fits well, your pipework can go the same route as mine, the top pipe will just need changing route slightly

From what I can tell you get 240-260 from a k04 001 and 230-240 from a k03s?

Yeah thats what I was told when I asked the other day........its a baby k04 not a proper one like the LCR

I know to go K03 hybrid you also need bigger injectors, bigger MAF, different TIP, uprated fuel pump, FMIC, bigger downpipe and manifold? and thats 270ish bhp

I'm not sure if you need all those for the k04 001 but your getting up to the same power levels arnt you so something must need uprating?

Phillc changed his LC inlet manifold to a cupra R one and also used the standard twin intercoolers off a LCR.
It can be done and probably quite cheaply unless you want a LCR FMIC kit and inlet mani and charge pipe, etc

Cheers mate, nope, no problems with the bumpers tho soon, i will eliminate that elbow hopefully and it looks like i can rotate the pipes slightly and put a straight silicone joiner in

well i have a full stage 2 parts and remap by AMD and mine is running 237BHP and 285lb/ft torque. and it is pretty damn quick now. it beat a near standard scoobie wrx sti, and pull away from uk spec scoobies, is also quicker than my mates 200sx

Is that a custom map or a drive in plug laptop in and drive out map?

If you don't mind me asking how much was it?
