Hello,
I am looking at getting a FMIC for my Leon Cupra.
Couple of questions,
1) The intercooler itself has exits either side, should i be looking for one with both exits on the same side?
2) Whats the ideal size i should be after?

Cheers

Its quite hard to find a universal FMIC that is twin-pass (exits the same side) for an LC. I've only found one seller on eBay and had to wait for a couple of months until he got in more stock. I can dig the link out later for you if you want?

The other alternative is a standard single pass as per Adam (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=216377&page=27) and come over the top or get an intake manifold from another seat/vag (e.g. LCR) that feeds from the right.

Another uni FMIC was done by everitt1980 (http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/member.php?u=31374)

If you go for a twin pass you'll use the standard restrictive pipework to the turbo but it will be easy to fit.

If you make your own then you can use unrestrictive pipework but you'll need a lot more time and more money as you'll need to buy more stuff.

Either way you'll have to modify the crash bar [like in pic above] unless you can find a really slim cooler.

My inlet and outlet are 3" and all the pipes are 2.5"

I don't think you have much of a choice of thickness if your going twinpass?

Mines 770mm end to end 300mm tall and 80mm deep......you want one smaller than this as it was a right pain in the arse to fit......I'd wait for one of the cupra R lads to comment as I think a few have fitted coolers without modifing the crash bars and slam panel supports.
