Ok, I've got my self a 3 button flip key off ebay. I've got it programed to the central locking fine and even got the key cut for free from my local Timpsons :p .

The only problem is that I'm finding it hard to get the transponder out of my spair key and the new flip key and dont want to break it.

I just want to know how moste people managed to get there transponder's out???

Any help is mucho appreciated.

I took mine out of a non electronic key, so i just heated it up with a soldering iron and melted the clip away and it popped straight out lol.

yer not on it, just around it there is like a retaining clip that hooks under, I just heated that up quickly and if popped straight out for me. Fair enough it breaks the key but as mine was just a key blade and transponder anyway I wasnt too botherd

Ok. I've just got in from work and its all sorted now. I done it the way Guinness said, using a soldering iron around the transponder and dug it out with a stanly knife while the plastic was still soft (with no damage to the outside of the spair key). I've just used the key to drive home and it works perfect, just waiting on my SEAT badge now.

Think most of us use ebay for em, there is a thread in the MK4 FAQ section that will more than answer any questions
