flashing glowplug light

haven't found anything on this yet...mate of mine has a mkIV golf and recently the glowplug light on the dash started blinking. any ideas what this means?

Check the brake lights, they may not be working at all or on all of the time. Could be either a bulb or the brake light switch by the brake pedal

i think that was the case mate...thanks for the swift reply as my mate was gettin worried, he got his boss to plug up the VAGCOM and come up with the brake light error
