Very odd thing happened this morning

Just let home and was driving around 40mph as I accelerated for a few seconds the battrery light began to flash. It flashed a few times and then went away and thats it.

Car did not feel any different.

All I had running extra was radio, and aircon. any ideas what it could mean.

It could be just a loose belt or a dodgy alternator or possibile a loose wire.

Either way its worth getting it looked at

Yep I was reading the userguide last night and flashing battery light = loose belt or alternator on the blink.

Although I think I read if the belt went it takes PS with it too, so possibly good idea to get it looked at sharpish.

well car went into dealer and turns out on idle the alternator is not providing enough power so its a new alternator.

Good thing its covered underwarranty unlike the engine mounts for which I need to shell out £230.

Still annoying for such things to fail on a car that is less thsan 4 years old and only 60k

same thing happened to me today, no squealing but my car only has 5000 miles, it had already happened before a couple of times but I thought it could be the alternator shutting itself off to give me more power, I'll take it to the dealer and see what they say
