FK coilovers

The Konigsports and Silverline x(same as konigsports but stainless) use Koni adjustable dampers, were as the highsports and silverline are fixed damping. Don't think they are koni's though:shrug:

highsports are cheap, and u get what u pay for.

I bought highsports on my LC - and I'd make sure you get warranty etc on them (ie don't buy secondhand)

I've now seen 4 sets of FK's (not just highsports, silverlines as well) that have a bit of "play" in them, and this can lead to MOT failure, so I'm told. It may mean shocks have to be rebuilt.

Mine have a slight amount of play in them, which I'm not happy about, but at the moment they are not bad enough to get anything done about it - will be checking on them in a few months.

when suspension is at full extent, ie wheels off ground, the shock can be moved in a horizontal way when it should only move vertically... kinda like a horizontal wobble - imagine a bolt thats in a hole thats too big for the bolt - the bolt can move around in the hole when it shouldnt.. i think..

If that makes sense - i can't really explain it cos i'm cr*p like that. Just go by what I see and get told by mechanics and other forum members.

Ive had mine on for 2 months and no problems so far but then only time will tell.

For the price id go for the top wack ones as with big boys discount it worked out cheaper to get the top of the range silverline X's (free fitting)

You get what you pay for at the end of the day but seeing how bad roads are today any car lowered is going to take one hell of a pounding in the suspension area. I look at it as if there going to get fooked by mountain sized speed bumps and pot holes the size of black holes then I might as well go for the best priced versions rather than the expensive ones which could be fecked in the same amount of time.

Not sure how long the guarantee is but if they fail due to being poor quality you just get them replaced!

is that "play" in the Fk's only really inherant to the highsports, as they use FK shocks, or do the konigsport's koni shocks suffer aswell ?
