As per title.
Fitting a full airtec kit to my 2004 leon tomorrow.
I picked it up a week or so ago and havnt even opened the box yet. And wont untill tomorrow. Its at the workshop.

Any little things i should know about before i start?
Aiming for no dramas.
Bumper off, old coolers and pipework off. New cooler and pipework on followed by the bumper. Jobs a gooden.

Its never that easy.
Do i need to trim the bumper at all? Cut into the crash bar?

Cheers all

Rich

Holes drilling to mount the cooler?
The advert sead 3hrs to do if competent.
Does that sound about right?

As above, the bumper and crash bar remain intact apart from a few holes in crash bar lip.
The slam panel needs a little chopping but it's simple enough.
You can see how it goes exactly in my build thread.

I have an airtec on order. I can deal with drilling, but what level of tool is required for "a little chopping"? I think my tool kit just about stretches to a junior hacksaw. Do I need to get shopping for a power tool or can I get away with a bit of hacksawing with a good blade?

Hack sawing should be ok. Its only pressed 1mm(ish) to cut through.
Will definitely need a drill though.

Any words of wisdom on where the horns relocate to? I assuming they need relocation? Just asking these questions now. I hate surprises halfway through jobs.

I think i fitted mine on the outside of the chassis nearside if memory serves. Theres not many places to fit it so shouldn't take long to figure it out 👍

I took delivery of my airtec yesterday and unpacked it this morning. Is there supposed to be a hard pipe joiner in the kit as I have circled in the image below?? Hope someone can confirm before I contact airtec on Monday.

As mentioned above, there's a nice spot on the nearside chassis leg when you remove the stock side mount intercooler bracket.

Ok thanks. I’ll chase them up on Monday. It also seems odd that I got two sets of 4 jubilee clamps, one set with the one piece hoses and one set with the intercooler nut n bolts. Maybe a packing mistake was made.

To fail to prepare is to prepare to fail...
With that in mind here is another question...
What is the 3rd bracket for (the one on the left in my upside down picture)??

I cant remember to be honest.
Cropped this pic for you just to show what i did bracket wise.
Hopefully someone with a slightly less miss spent youth and better memory will be along to help.
