guys for you that have done this, any hints and tips on fitting one, im handy with a set of spanners but just after info on things that may make it easier or problems i may come across,

even better a detailed guide would be handy.

have you got ramps?

biatch to fit on axle stands...

make sure you have a new gasket to fit also.
with the new dp being wider, there aint much room in there and if your on ya back youll struggle like hell to manouever

yeah thats the one, should come with the dp, if not vw will do them for pennies...

use some gasket seal aswell.

if you are diy.

do you have a standard cat back?

what dp is it your fitting?

for info, i got a local garage to fit for 35quid.......

james, im always one for a DIY. im handy with a bag of spanners and doing it in my mates workshop.

its standard cat back at the mo, fitting a turbo back BF system,

probably need pipe reducers aswell then, the bf will be 3 inch wont it?

heat the old pipes first to get them off....

easy enough if you have ramps like

Plus gas, gas axe, a cheap set of spanners that you can cut and reshape to fit.
Theres not much room between this and the sub fram so you might have to drop the sub frame a bit to give you more space.
Good luck, I had a look at mine the last time I was under there and my bolts are WELL rusted in.
Might bottle it and get someone else to do mine

i just worry about giving it to some kwik fit monkeys that have never done this thing before, at least if i did it i would know the job was done well.

Yup me too. If you are dropping the sub frame get new bolts for this as they are stretch.
you can bet that the quick fit guys don't know about the torques and stretch on these bolts either.
Do it yourself bud then you know its doen right

cheers mate, ye know them through the RS local group, and use to live in norwich when those boys worked for SCA. (that was a while ago now).

still tempted to give it a go but if gary will do it for a drink ill get him to do it,
