fitting ko3s

before i fit my k03s should i get a forge actuator or swap the one thats on the ko3 for the one on the ko3s? what do people think?

i ran a forge actuator on my 3s but you dont NEED to! the only thing is that you need to make you own bracket as the forge ones dont fit and you need to drill out the arm that connects to the end of the actuator rod because forge use larger diameter rods!

are you worred about the 03 having 2 take off and the 3s only having 1!?

i know you can swap the ko3 for the ko3s so that you have to boost pipes instead of just the one but is it worth getting the forge one?

there is no need for a swap! all the ko3 actuator does with the second nipple is cut boost when tcs cuts in! theres not much difference between the 2 standard actuators!

With the forge actuator you will see more boost that comes in harder and for longer

i bet u wont see any benefit with the forge piece, its an uprated replacement part...the core of the actuator is a spring...thats essentially all it is? how that will get u more boost i dont know

id love to see how the mapper takes it into account aswell

basicly, the standard one is made for 7psi, if your running 20psi the standard one will be fighting/struggling to control the boost! so running a stronger actuator it will be more agressive!

my technical chat may not be spot on but i ran one on mine and it was better! the technical part is just what i work out in my head from running one

iv not tried one but i know what an actuator is and how it works, im no expert, just enthusiastic about my car

dont take offense to this but perhaps it was in your head...or maybe your old one was shagged and weak

you say it was made for 7psi....where'd you get that info from? just cos the ibiza runs 7psi...doesnt mean the turbo unit was designed with that intended.

unless the original actuator is fecked, i wouldnt expect to see much gain if any...other than in your head telling yourself it was a worthy purchase

No point changing your actuator when fitting a ko3s the standard one will do the job just fine

To check that it hasn't been played with count the thread there should be 13-14 threads shown at the end

i run the forge actuator on my jbso4 originally it came with a 12psi which turn't out to b to much with the forge you can alter the psi ratin mine is now set at 9psi which is fine for wot i need not really needed for an o3s but is a nice bit of bling bling
