Is fitting cruise control as simple as just fitting the stalk? i have MY03 cupra with AUQ engine code (52plate) if that makes any difference?

What bits are needed? what's involved with installation?

I did see that but I'm trying to avoid paying someone £170 to fit a stalk, if that's all it is and maybe a bit of VAG-COM tweaking.

anyone able to shed a bit of light on what you are paying £170 for? (anyone that replies 'cruise control' really should stick to the day job :p )

Not too far away
You need a stalk and a loom that goes from the stalk to the engine ECU. Then you enable it with VAG-COM.

Its been mentioned a fair few times on here..

There's a how to over on one of the golf forums (it's basically the same).

But you need the stalk , loom and extra loom. The extra loom just extends the basic loom to go into the ecu(it's not as scary as it sounds)

It envolves removing steering wheel and scuttle panel, then feeding one wire into the fuse box and the rest into the junction box under the scuttle , then extending that into the ecu.

All that you have to do then is get it enabled via vag-com and I'tll save you around £90
