a free flowing downpipe would help the flow through the system and you should see some gains, not sure if it'd make 10 bhp.

alternatively try some go-faster stripes ;)

original pd130 one m8

the title is ment 2 say 10 m8

you could try swapping the turbo for the one from a 150 leon if they arent the same. would need another remap to take full advantage of the new unit though. that would see you over the 200bhp mark im certain.

The standard SMIC is good for max. 165-170bhp, and even in this hp-region you will have quite high Intake air temperatures when flooring it
As a second, your car is equipped with a kkk kp39v turbo which has even worse compressor efficiency than the garrett gt1749va which is used in 130hp golf/octavia...

So producing 190bhp with that turbo would shoot your intake air temperature through the roof within SECONDS @ WOT, the same is to be used on the kkk turbo, compare it with an Garrett device and you will see what i mean.

Even OEM had several callbacks because of that IAT problem with that turbo, where the OEM gave a software update to reduce those problems.

You are looking for 200bhp?

If you want it DURABLE you will need at least 52mm compressor, something like a GT1752V Hybrid, and if you want it to stay 200hp while flooring it longer, then you will need a FMIC. (But anyway most tuners knock of thermal protection, so the FMIC will only help if this thermal protection is still upright...)

Not really clued up on whats avaliable for the diesel mk4 versions...

but im sure what majesty78 is stating above is to do it without risking your turbo going pop a 52mm turbo compresor wheel like in the GT1752V Hybrid to allow it to flow the power would be a good bet...

but you will need a fmic to keep the intake temperatures down idealy otherwise your just going to be loosing power as soon as the smic cant cope which is pretty much as soon as you start the engine imo...lol...

not sure what else is avaliable in terms of tip etc though for your version...

Thermal protection is based on Intake Air Temperatures, it part of the mapping, on stock ECUs.

This protection helps keeping your turbo/engine alive, because with raising intake air temperatures, also the exhaust gas and combustion temperatures raise, decreasing the combustion efficiency and the amount of fuel which max. can be burnt. (Thats why we always want as cool Intake Air as possible)

I have seen very very many chiptuning files where this protection was disabled, taking the risk of causing damage to the customers engine, like turbo failures per example. (Only to name one single mistake what is common in tuning softwares...there are way more than that...)

Anyway, if you are a lucky guy with a chiptuning file WITHOUT this mistake, then your car should loose power when flooring it longer. This maybe sound kind of "No, I dont want that" BUT it protects your engine from blowing up.
So if your software reacts properly, THEN you will have a benefit from a bigger FMIC, because it will hold up full power for longer while flooring it.

Actually the power reduction begins at about 50-60degrees celcius which is reached pretty fast with high boost and small SMIC.

The Garrett Turbo has a better compressor map and a better turbine, so it will from beginning PRODUCE less heat than the kkk kp39.

not sure on the price but a decent fmic is a good idea as it opens up the route for other mods n stuff... i.e. at some point you'll go fmic, so why not now...

Also you have to bear in mind you are attempting to extract 70hp more than standard.
Yor turbo must be on borrowed time, having to blow very hard for a long time to get you to 190hp. I would think about the hybrid route and fmic very soon, if the turbo lets go you could end up with your combustion chambers full of oil.:-o
You dont want to be doing that, it happened to me on my old 1749v blowing 190hp and its not a nice experience.

I was advised not to put a big bore downpipe and de-cat on my ibiza when i was on my standard pd130 turbo because it's puts added strain on the turbo. A few people in the past have questioned that but I waited untill i got big turbo untill i did it. To be honest your going to struggle to get 200bhp out of a standard 130 turbo the most i got from mine was 187 and within 3 months it wasn't to healthy. I do know a guy who ran 200 on a pd130 and it lasted about 6 weeks before it blew up.

The answer to your question depends on budget >:- ) I mean having the head flowed would prob help. I gained 18BHP from having the head flowed and another remap but i was already running 240bhp at hat point. Another possible is the water/meth injection which my car is going in for on Monday my mod list is a little out of date to be honest kind of lost a bit of interest i'm now running 258bhp without the water meth kit. Will let you know what i get out of the water meth kit i'm kind of hopeing for another 10-15bhp but i am at the limit of what the turbo should really be ran at. Also last time I had it remapped they had to pin the torque back because i'm like 30 ft/lb over the torque limit of the clutch lol

if your trying to do it cheap as possible i would go for water meth prob going to set you back £500 fitted or £350 just for the kit.

a fmic will help i have a full forge fmic kit for a ibiza 130tdi brand new still in the box so if your interested in one i will sell it to you at £100 less than you can find it for sale anywhere else. so prob going to be around £450. When i had mmy fmic fitted it made quite a big difference but wiull prob need re-mapping to take that into concideration. If your planning on going big turbo you might want to look at a different option from the forge. I have had to have a custom one made because my intake temps were getting as high as 88 degrees when i ragged it for more than 1 min.

if you need any advice or anything pm me with your mobile and i will call you and we can have a chat. there's not to many things i havent looked into regarding these pd130/150 engines :p

I would have thought you're already living on borrowed time running 190bhp from the original KKK 130 turbo and SMIC....

My mate had his ibiza 130 remapped by AmD to 169bhp and 303ftlb and after he got his backbox and cat removed, straight through exhaust and a green cotton cone and had it rollered a month later and it made 189bhp and 311ftlb
