Hi guys,

Ive got a 2004 Leon cupra. I have been umming and arring for some time about what to do to it. I am finally going get some stuff done on Saturday when my service is due. Booked in is:

Oil service
Tints all round
Front and Rear Eibach Arbs
30mm Eibach springs
Forge 007p DV
Forge strut brace.

After finally getting all this done I don't know what to do!!!! I am planning to get a full turbo back system for the car so I can get the stage 2 remap. After that though whats next???

What do you guys think?

Cheers
Nige

You do know that 30mm springs will only lower your car 15mm, as this drop is based on the standard spec Leon.
What size or ARB's are you going for?
What price is the forge strutt brace? Not think about the S3 one?
What about wishbone bushes and DBM/Engine mounts?

Yeh i know it will only drop about 15mm, I didnt want it too low because it already scrapes everywhere now so cant go too low. To be fair I dont know how much it is costing, I have given a budget to a mate of mine who has a VW specialist garage and alltogether it is costing me £1050. Ill be speaking to him more about it on Saturday.

why lower 15mm..you wont even notice it to be honest because the springs on your car would be worn and sagged already, and lowering springs have to sometimes settle in. but a 15mm drop isnt going to be noticeable and to be honest a bit of a waste of money. just get some cheap coilovers, will find them really cheap for the cupra, jamex or something along those lines 2 year guarantee and then you can adjust it to where YOU want it! wouldnt waste probably over £ 100 on a 15mm drop.

There are a few bits and bobs added extra into the package these are just audio components but I havent had the breakdown of it all yet. I will see that on Saturday. I cant remember what he said, he only called me today.

I don't want the car too low as it scrapes in a lot of places I go now. The underside of my front bumper is scuffed to hell because of it and its also grounded a few places on the roads by me and thats standard!!!! I am out and about in it a lot on crap roads because of my job. The main reason is to stiffen the suspension up a bit. Just want the arches sitting just above the wheels when I get some new wheels for it.

I'd have to agree with jwfcms, 15mm won't be noticable and probably not worth the money.

Also, I've just bought coilovers for my LCR, and it looks pretty low, but the wheel arches are only just above the tyres and that's with it pretty damn low! Not sure what size wheels your going for but they'd have to be pretty big to fill the arches with a 15mm drop.

A lot of that grounding out is due to soft damping and soft springs, after market suspension kits ( shocks and springs) will be different damping, the car will dive less under braking and will ground out less even though it may be lower.

Good choice on ARB though - those will make a HUGE difference!

Seeing all the replies im thinking i should pass on the springs for now and maybe save a little bit more and get some coilovers. I really am not looking to lower it a big amount. I was going to air ride the car but heard the handling suffers from this mod badly so have been put off that idea

Honestly ... get the bushes n stuff done .. along with the ARB and see what you think of the handling then, you may be pleasantly surprised :)

go for tt wishbone bushes, s3 upper and lower brace, weitec shocks and springs then your 007p and arbs.

tbh id leave the front arb at the minute, just change the rear with the lower s3 brace, save yourself 150quid on the front arb and see what you think then.

Thanks guys with all this response. Ive decided to leave the lowering springs for now and see how it feels.

I wanna get front and rear arbs done because I have heard so much about them and the make a massive difference, so don't mind spending a little bit more on them.

this is for a leon cupra willie, with 23mm front arb already on not a lcr.....
Yup still as mistake not to uprate.
Stiffening up the ARB's and fitting strutt braces should be your first port of call before changing any suspension components. This allows the car to make the most of the suspension and stiffen up the chassis

so it is worth uprating the arb on lc... i have whiteline 23mm adjustable on stiffest setting on rear, whiteline do a 23mm adjustable for the front, will thisd be worth going for, or just polybushing
