Few Q's bout changing/cleaning front brakes

Hi,
i need some new brake pads on the front of my car, first up is the a guide anywhere on how to do it? an second, the've got abit of a lip on em, im a machinist so would it be ok to turn them off? or grind them off? or should i just leave em?

any advice is much appreciated

yes it is ok to take off a small lip on the discs. This is a common procedure.

Furthermore changing the pads is really straight forward.
off the top of my head

take wheel off, then unbolt the 2 bolts holding the calliper on the carrier. Take off calliper. Then another 2 bolts on the back for the carrier. One of these sets of bolts you need to have 2 spanners. one on front one on back
Then the safety screw (torx iirc) holding the disc on the hub.

Take large (sorry only know it in dutch) waterpump plyers?? and press the piston back into the calliper, to ensure the new fatter pads will fit over the disc again. Put copper grease on the top and bottom of the pads (narrow side), where its clip shaped so they don;t squeel.

then do everything in reverse again. No need to depressurise or anything.
