Hey guys,

You people have been real helpful while I've been on here so just wonna say thanks :)
The first is the power steering, does anyone elses go light and heavy during low speed maneuvers? When I'm putting my car on the drive it feels heavy light heavy light etc in a quick amount of time, anyone else's like this or just me?
Also, mine is the Fr550 limited edition which means it has 18's on as standard and they make a weird rubbing noise on full lock when it's wet but they're fine when it's dry? it's like a creaking noise, any ideas?

Thanks guys.

I have notived when making like a uturn or something the steering goes heavy for a split second like you have lost assistance momenterily. been to dealer no fault found must just be a characteristic I suppose. Oh and mine has 18 inch wheels too don't know if that makes any difference?

Mine's the same. When twirling the wheel at a standstill (as you would when parking) it's as if the power steering can't quite keep up. I've driven other cars with the same problem so as above, I don't think it's a fault, more a characteristic of the car.

This thread has really helped, got the FR a few weeks back and thought the steering felt a little weird when parking, as though its losing power then regaining it. I also have the standard 18's and i checked the pressures and they all seem fine so coupling that with what you guys said it sounds like its not a problem.

The steering in the car alters as you drive - at high speeds the steering is weighted allowing you to be much more progressive whilst at low speeds the steering is highly assisted allowing for sharp precise movements when parking etc.

However, it is sometimes easy to trick the system dependant on how you apply throttle and revs at which you change down, it thinks you are about to accelerate and weights the wheel but you are not thus making it seem heavy, the system soon relizes its mistake and corrects it however.

IMO I think the system is worth it for the high speed feel you gain from it being worth the trade off against the odd heavy moment at low speed.
