Thought that title'd get some views.....

After much deliberation I have decided to keep the LC on when the finance agreement runs out. I am getting bored waiting for news on the new Cupra and having driven a 1.6 noticed there is next to no visibility. What I am hoping to do is uprate the power to a reasonable level, without over-stressing the engine or wallet.

Would I be right in suggesting that the basics are: Revo, Forge DV and Induction kit? I've had the car 3 years now, and need a little oomph added.

Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

Many ta's

ps. - I noticed in Autocar recenlty that they keep mentioning a Leon CC, but no mention of a new Cupra? Wassat all about?

yes your right, £ for £ a remap is the best option.
revo, jabba, custom code, APR and a few others on here.

various view on what the best option.

Induciton kit id say is the lest necessary of the 3 option you listed, indeed will probaly just make more noise than deliver more power. other option would be a new panel filter in the standard air box.

Forge DV makes sense if remapping due to highter boost levels.

Custom maps or a stage 2 generic map is the best way to go as these take advantage of other mods on the car! I'd recommend a de-restrictive exhaust, cai kit and then remap! The DV is also a good idea!

Boy in the Seat Dealers the other week told me the FR would be out towards the end of the year (around Nov) with the new Cupra Feb/March. Could be shite but he telt me the New Cupra's would have 265ps. Said they had received "Details". Although he seemed to be a bit of a bullshitter, I may have just judged him wrong.

I make it you could buy Revo for 399+vat from Vagtech, a DV delivered from BBT for £75 inc vat, and a Panel Filter from Badger 5 / JBS for about £45

Which is a grand total of £583 ish

Assuming Vagtec are fitting the DV and filter I'd say £600 all in is a reasonable price.

Not for £17, but the parts are a doddle to fit - might even get some satisfaction/confidence up?

I got my DV and Revo from VagTech. They are a good bunch. The price will include fitting. They fitted mine for nowt and they now get my custom for any work or servicing I need.

Sounds like £17 well spent to me.

Lack of tools, knowhow and space makes letting someone else do the work a sensible choice in my eyes. Maybe a doddle to fit - but then anything's a doddle if you know how.

Replacing my pedal covers was about as far as I will go - I know my limits. :D

its probably easier to fit a DV than the pedal covers.3 hoses off,add jubliee clips to hoses, fit new DV and then screw driver the jubilee clips nice and tight, stand back with a brew of your choice and declare"i am now a mechanic"

I agree that if you can a fully custom map its great, but as for stage 2, i'm dubious. Alot of people have the zorst and induction and it makes feck all difference - if thats the case (ie the zorst is pants and the induction kit flows less than std) then how will a stage 2 map help?
