:( I'm the owner of a '53 plate Leon S (1.4) and I'm having problems with my engine temperature guage which is registering anywhere between no reading at all to 45% of the engine temp range, whatever takes its fancy!
 I take it that it's the engine temperature sender that's at fault but can anyone please tell me where it's located (top right of the engine as you face it from the front or elsewhere - but where?!) and how to replace the same? I've got the replacement part ready to go.
Any help would be much appreciated - Thanks
Ian McN
Managed to fix it myself after various responses and a look at an old Seat Cordoba Haynes manual I'd kept- 10 minute job (+45 minutes going off to get replacement coolant required!!) - my local Seat 'stealer' had quoted £110.00+ to do the job!! Part cost £26.00. Useful link on an American VWvortex forum with pictures of job required that helped.
Thanks,
Ian McN.
