faulty outside temperature reading

I've got a faulty outside temperature reading in my car. Does anyone know if this likely to be caused by a faulty sensor?

just bought a new one and loom off seat for about £15....

Faulty sensor in the passenger wing mirror mate, common fault on the MK3's do a search for it and you'll find stacks of threads devoted to it and how to replace it.
