Been trying not to post up about this, but its very frustrating. I am on my 4th maf since feb when I got my car remapped again. My actuator is only set to 8 threads aswell, I keep getting positive deviation fault code on my ECU, which i'm getting when my MAF's fail. I have even made brackets up to support my MAF from vibration like so......

Yet still, on spool up my car goes into LIMP, because my MAF is knackered again. Am i the only one with this problem and what is causing it?

Any help welcome, I know this is a boring post but I want to like my car! lol

Have you tried a different air filter, looks like the type you are using is oiled, which our cars dont like as the oil fecks the MAF's. Try the standard airbox again and then see if your having the fault, worth a try.

Yeah try going back to the standard air box.

Alternativlely, go back to Jim and check the map is fine.

I don't see why I should go back to the standard airbox, noone else has the problem I do with their induction kits, which makes me think it isn't that. getting another new MAF isn't a problem either as I can get it under parts warranty. Maybe a phonecall to jim would'nt go a miss..... as my actuator should be up about 4 or 5 threads too.

I very much doubt it has anything to do with oil on your air filter. Your oil breather will chuck far more oil into the TIP than any air filter.

Have a check at the wiring and the connection on the MAF to see what the state of it is like. Also what part number is on your maf?

Just for a bit of help, i measured my actuator on my old k03 for martyn and heres some pics...

I have the breather valve out and blanked off the TIP anyway so that can't affect it. Its a 06A 906 461DX, like is meant to be on an AYP.

Yeh thanks, I checked my old K03 and it was at about 14, where my K03S is only at 8 now. Should i be getting jim to check things over, or get my MAF wiring redone?

From memory:)whistle:) my actuator is about the thinkness of a finger from the end on the rod if that helps. Jim wouldn't have touched this so someone's messed with it i'd say.

What N75 are you running? Is it working ok??

How thick is your finger though, lol. Yes I have adjusted the actuator when It fell/came completely loose one day running 0 boost - sounded like a 1.2 12v.

My car had a N75F when i bought it, I bought a new N75F because I thought that was the problem. Its always gone into limp now that I think about it, even since it was only on a jabba stg 1 remap. Should I maybe try a N75J and adjust my actuator back up? Or what N75 do you run Baz?

Its a confusing problem....

Oh and would changing from N75 boost control to a Apexi boost controller be able to stop limp mode?

Update:- I adjusted the actuator from 8 back to the standard 13/14 threads (about 16mm on a tape measure) and took it out a run tonight up some B roads, its going like absolute stink again, no limp mode so far, but I am not getting my hopes up yet, will let you know.

Need to buy a boost gauge and get it hooked up to see what boost I'm running now and if its near the 1.1bar it should be.

Cheers

And it returns..........LIMP MODE. FUUUU**********

It does'nt even happen with driving quickly!

Ok I need to know, if i bought an Apexi boost controller, would IT being in place stop the ecu from putting it into limp mode because of a boost fault like 'positive deviation'. Or is there another way i can block out that fault code or anything?

no the apexi wouldnt stop limp. the ecu sends it to limp when the boost goes outside the limits

and apexi is a contollable n75

i just figured if the car is remapped to run a certain boost level, would it not need to spike to exceed max boost assuming this is also increased when mapped?

The only thing I have done different since the map, is take the heatsheild off the dynatwist, and replace the Rubber pipes running to the N75 with 8mm silicon ones. Don't see how that should change anything, as people change this stuff all the time.

Beginning to think there a some parimeters in my map too low on something.
