Temp sender would be my first port of call. Although 17608 points towards an N249 fault... but the symptoms you describe sound like temp sender.

Thanks mate,
Mind you once the car is started it runs well, The taty who had the car before me has drilled several holes in the air filter box so when i do start it at makes a weird noise, oh what does a n249 mean?

I agree with Rob.

The N249 valve is a boost control valve that is located undet the L shaped engine cover - Car forward of the Inlet Manifold.

The 01314 error code is a connection problem between the engine and the control module according to the code info. I would sort the problem above first and the check the 01314 one again later. It might be a red herring.
