Hello!
Just thought I'd save some people a lot of expense and hassle for something that's possibly quite simple. I've seen a few people on here having trouble with window mechanism's going down easily and going up easily enough but stopping just short, about 3/4's the way up.
THis is what mine did, was told to grease it up and if that didn't work buy a new one.
When the doorcard was off I noticed that the plastic retaining clip that holds the window clamp on the regulator peg things had broken. The window had slipped off and only 1 runner was lifting the whole weight of the glass rather than two.
If thats confusing have a look at the mechanism in the car and you'll see what I mean.
Anyways, the clips that hold the window clamps on these pegs apparently cannot be bought. People just buy a new regulator. HOWEVER, the pikie came out in me at the weekend, and so far seems to be going strong.
What I did was mix up some araldite, slop it all over a cut down cable tie, pull the cable tie tight around the black peg thing (not the whole runner as the window won't move!!! ). Leave it to set for half a day and it (touch wood) is now working fine!
Just thought it might be worth a mention to people contemplating spending out a lot of money. If it doesn't stick for long though its not my fauly hehe
