Mine does this. If you have the aircon on they seem to come on a lot. As far as I know it is normal.

this isnt normal, it comes on for about 10 seconds every minute, even when the engine is just switched on

Get it to the dealer and tell them the symptoms. Also take a copy of the above thread with you to make sure they don't fob you off.

I got my fans replaced because they were doing this. When the aircon is on there should be a fan running at a slow speed constantly and the high speed fans should only come on when really hope.... get it in before you blow a fuse and over heat the engine. :)

Good to hear this, mines started to do this recently and I thought I was just normal because of the temp. Guess I'll be visiting the dealers soon then!

Went to the stealer last night to sort this out. They agreed it is a problem and my car is booked in on Monday. Luckily my car is under warranty so it's all covered.

They took some convincing there was a problem though and had to ring SEAT in the end as the fault was not recorded with them. One low speed fan is supposed to fire up with the aircon on, it seems my low speeds have failed meaning both high speed a running to try and keep up.

Anyway, I'll let you know what they do to fix it.

They'll have to replace both fans. The problem is the low speed resistor has failed. I had mine in the dealers yesterday for it, and they're going to fit new fans next tuesday.

Make sure you get a warranty for the fans. This is a common problem, so they'll most likely go again.
