Hi folks,

Don't think I've ever had anything go wrong with either of my TDI's but it looks like I have a bit of an issue now.

My car has Climate Control and thats on all the time, I don't use it on ECON so the air conditioning I guess is running all the time.

What my problem is, is... the two radiator fans do not spin at a slow speed - they do absolutely nothing then at random (I guess its pressure related, as this happens when the car is cold) both the fans kick in at a high speed (Can see the volt meter jerk a little).

Any ideas what this could be? A sensor? A fuse? I'm pretty clueless, any help appreciated.

Had a new radiator fitted recently and it's still the same.

Thanks, Chris.

This is normal they kick in about every 40 seconds and stay on for 4 seconds, mine does this as yours is doing so dont worry:p this function is air con related you will see it stops if you turn the air con off

Well guys - found out the answer.

If your air con is on, and the radiator fans are not spinning at a slow pace then basically you need a new fan assembly. If they kick in at high speed only for about 5 - 10 seconds is a good sign of this.

The replacement assembly is £200+VAT ... plus a few hours fitting.

There are other methods and fixes around this though - have a look at the link below, turns out its a VAG thing .. not TDI.
