hi i am fitting a pioneer dvd navigation unit to my mk2 and am gathering all the bits needed.

I made a visit to my local ice shop today and got the fakra ariel. But am wondering if i should have got the amplified one. The guy told me its only needed for medium and long wave which i dont listen to?

Anyone confirm this ?

Also found the steering wheel canbus adaptor wiring harness thing quite cheap

£33.99 and that includes the appropriate patch lead. £4 delivery charge

do you mean the signal for the fm will be weak also?

Thanks for the help

yes the fm signal will be weak , it will be fine in a strong area but will loose the signal as you move around.
without the amplified areial you wont get mw or lw at all.

The seat headunit has the amplifier inside for the radio signal.
