Failed MOT

Hi my LCR failed its mot due to emmisions being a tad to high

the mot man said the lambada sensor would need changing , altho id would of expected vag com to have been reporting it? - but i bought one any way , is there anything else its could be before i go for a re-test??

Was the car hot?
or was it left overnight so the car was stone cold?

run the car and get them to test it when its hot, youll find thatll sort it mate

some say... that tescos super unleaded can help with emissions. (due to its bio fuel content).*

otherwise:
engine must be warm. although MOT testers will know this.

Lamba is often the issue. But it could also be cat and other running issues.

yea the car was very hot lol, maby a 50 mile drive

the mot tester man did err try manipulating the hi idle to 4,000 rpm but it just refused to drop

Did the lamba sort this issue and how high were the CO readings? I have a the same problem with mine

yes it did i cant rember the exact figures but if you say the limit was 800 my car was 804

afterwards it was 790 , i had to make a tool to remove the lamda with out removing every thing , cut a spanner in half and welded a nut to it - then used a socket set
