Facelift Tail lights to Pre-Facelift MK5

Hi Guys,

Ive reading up on seatforum.de and they have generally been installing the new facelift tail lights to the pre facelift ibiza models.

I have mixed emotions about the lights as in some pictures they look stunning and vibrant, and the next they dont seem to suit the car when against the original lights.

I havent seen anyone on this community yet with these installed. If so please let us know your experience fitting these lights and if any issues arised from installing them.

In the thread they have posted part numbers with im not sure are available in the UK, or what price they are retailing at?

2-door
• LED tail lamp on the left -> 945 095 K 6J3
• LED tail light, right -> 945 096 K 6J3

4-door
• LED tail lamp on the left -> 6J4 945 095 E
• LED tail light, right -> 6J4 945 096 E

ST
• LED tail light left outside -> 6J8 945 095 A
• LED tail light right outside -> 6J8 945 096 A
• LED tail light left inside -> 6J8 945 093 A
• LED tail light right inside -> 6J8 945 094 A

As much as I like the facelift lights, they're a bit too much like the Polo rear lights.
One of my small joys when driving is coming up behind another Ibiza at night and knowing it's an Ibiza from the distinctive devil eye rear lights.

TBH the whole facelift is a bit of a let down, it's like they've taken the angular, futuristic design cues from the IBX IBZ IBL concept range and then shoehorned them onto the existing Ibiza body without really considering it as a whole. Which is a shame, as the original IB(x) concepts were amazing.

Fitted these to a 3 door per face lift and they bought on the bulb warning light cos of the led parts of the light. haven't tried playing with too much yet due to a lack of time. Determined to get them on!

Yeah thats what put me off, it seems only some cars have an LED lights fitted option in the ECU which will cancel the bulb warning.
Deffo havent seen that option on mine. I don't know its a software update at the dealers would being up the option, or if it's actually specific to a certain version of ECU hardware fitted to the newer models.

Mine hasnt got the option either... thought about fitting some can bus resistors to trick the car but they get to hot to put in the cluster so I'd have to run the wires into the car and hide them behind the carpet I guess

There's an alteration to be made in VAGCOM if I remember correctly which is for cars with LED clusters.

Had a quick question, I own the 2013 model, but don't have the face-lifted rear-lights. I'm thinking of upgrading them. Will I be facing the same problem, or this is an issue with pre-face-lift cars.

I'd imagine this is only an issue with the pre-facelift cars, I would be very surprised is the facelift models didn't all have the LED option availalbe in VagCom

So I have a 2010 ibiza with what I think is the pre face lift lights as they don’t have the led strip inside them, I was hoping to upgrade to the ones with the led strips in them but didn’t know if there would be any compatibility issues and if so any work around?
