Hi All,

My V1 is back at the dealership for the 4th time, been having constant random issues with the Infotainment system, latest software has been reloaded twice, still getting the same issues.

1. Dynamic Roadsign Display Restricted
2. Emergency Assist Unavailable
3. Infotainment Screen Refuses to boot
4. Low Tyre Pressures - even though tyres are at correct pressure.

Dealers have now diagnosed the F5 unit as faulty - anyone know what this is?

Thanks in advance!!

Thanks rubeck.

Spoke with the service advisor, all he said was that its part of the Infotainment system.

Had the car 6 months, been back 4 times it's been nothing but a pain in the ass, still got a gearbox whine in second gear, dealers say they can't hear anything.

I'm rather underwhelmed with it, so far the Formentor has not been a patch on my previous 69 plate Leon Excellence Lux ST

F5 unit is the central control unit and a common failure point. Not sure what supply is like now but they were on back order when ours failed in June, had to wait about 6 or 7 weeks For replacement. Check with your insurance company as ours told us we would not be covered if there was an accident which could have been prevented or damage limited if the systems had been working. With that Cupra provided a hire car.

@ES_Formentor Dealer is saying that unit has a lead time of 7 - 10 Days, car is still with Dealership but I do have an Ibiza courtesy car from them.

Out of interest did the F5 unit fix your issues?

Thanks ES, hopefully car should be ok when I get it back.
I will keep fingers crossed for you. if it ends up getting extended make sure they provide you with a car of equal utility to the Formentor e.g. if you have children, a dog, need it for work etc. ie all the reasons apart from fun that you bought the car, they do have an obilgation……

I've just got my Leon back after the 5F control unit was replaced. Issue was that it was rebooting itself every 30s or so.

The part was on back order for 5 months, so hopefully lead times are better now!!

Really interesting to read this. My Cupra ,which is just under a year old, needs a new 5F Unit as it’s gone blank, meaning I can’t use sat nav, change heating, heated seats, car play etc.
it’s a lease car and seems my earliest replacement is 19th Dec, garage, lease co or Cupra don’t want to give me a car I can use in the meantime. Seems pretty poor when I’ve now got a car I pay for but, although, can drive it, I can’t use the infotainment system. Interested to know if anyone else got a replacement and if I drive it how that stands with insurance if I have an accident?
For example I can’t see or reset any warnings such as tyre pressure.
I’ve left it with Cupra to either get it replaced earlier or find me a car to use.
im not holding my breath.

I would make it clear to the dealer and/or leasing firm that you have no access to the safety features and that in an event if an accident you will tell your insurance company that you had raised this issue and had been refused a replacement vehicle.

Mine went into the dealer and they provided a hire car which I ended up having for 5 months.

At one point I asked for my car back (the hire car was rubbish) but they wouldn't give me it as there was an airbag light on.

I think it was related to the eCall/SoS system, as this needs the infotainment to work.

I would say that you're getting the airbag light on and they will probably get you a hire car.
