Just fitted my exterior door handle lights. relativity simple and great effect.

Thought i would do a little fitting guide for anyone else who would like to do this.

I used Prisom blue LED door handle lights which i purchased from Halfrauds for £9.99 (they also do white)

1. I dissembled the door card using this page http://www.seatcupra.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=51&Itemid=6

2. i then ran the cable through the door handle and into the inside door. i then pulled it through to inner skin and out the other side ( be very careful with the wire inside the door, make sure it is away from all the window mech as it could get caught up.

3. Run it back through the rubber gromet closest to the door hinges and then through the ruber between the door and the A post into the car.

This is the same for both doors.

4. I found i needed more wire which I also purchased from Halfrauds ( Red and Black so you dont get confused now:D )

5. connect both of the wires from the right and left door. Either use connector blocks or solder and heat shrink.

6. Now that both sides are connected you need a power source. Run a + and - wire from your connected wires ( hope your still with me ) up your drivers pillar to the roof lining

7. pop off the roof light and run the wires through.

8. disconnect fuse 14 in the fuse box ( this controls the light )

9.

In the picture you can see the socket with 3 wires your negative goes to the yellow wire and you positive goes to the red and blue wire.

10. put it all back together and admire

not completly finished as i want to hide the wires on the exterior and just to note you have to leave the interior light in the open and closing the door switch position

I had a look through the door but the light is controlled by and impulse from the lock to the locking system which triggers the light. Was just way easier to go to the light direct
